Here is an aerial view of Cambridge from 1999.
I was looking for another side to ‘Classic’ Cambridge, its spires and cloisters.
Even in 1999 the aerial was an obsolete consumer technology.
This obsolescence makes the aerial a timeless and perfect icon of modernity.
The aerials and the roof-scape was the avant-garde alternative to architecture of Classic Cambridge that I was looking for.
Shot on 35mm film, enlarged with a photocopier and then re-photographed and de-skewed digitally.
