Cambridge Cinema Shorts, in partnership with Strawberry Fair, are delighted to announce that we will be holding The Strawberry Shorts Film Festival 2011 on the evening of Friday 3 June. The Film Festival has the honour of acting as the opening event for Strawberry Fair 2011, which takes place on Saturday 4 June, from 12 midday.
Film submissions are invited, and all screened short films will not only receive the adoration of our enthusiastic audience, but will be automatically entered into our competitive programme for a chance to win La Fraise d’Or.
There will be two categories, Best Local Short Film and Best Overall Festival Winner. There are two awards for each category – The Audience Award and The Jury Award – with the winners being announced at the end of the evening.
Films can be of any genre but should be less than 20 minutes long. There is no submission fee. Close of submission is Saturday 7 May.
For entry details please visit the Cambridge Cinema Shorts website.
The festival will be held on Friday 3 June in the Portland Arms Marquee on Midsummer Common in Cambridge. The event will start at at 7 pm, and entry will be on a first come, first served basis. There will be a bar serving drinks and snacks. All audience members will receive voting slips on arrival, so they can vote for The Audience Award . Further details will be available closer to the date, so to keep in touch please visit our website for information and news on this and other forthcoming events.
Please note; As the 2010 event was cancelled due to our host organisation, Strawberry Fair, being unable to secure its licence in time, all films submitted for that event will be considered for screening at this year’s Festival, along with entries for Strawberry Shorts 2011.
